Wow, I need you working on my needlesofsteel.org.uk website methinks! What an excellent, useful, post. Mind if I link this page to my site?

I did have all the Susy Ranner vids linked before she took them offline, and I have not had chance to repair them all, I’m guessing they all changed address. Working full-time is a PITA sometimes! πŸ™‚

2 Kathryn { 11.26.09 at 8:31 am }

Please, lInk away.

Susy still has a lot of videos available, more than what I’ve linked. I don’t now if the addresses changed or not – probably so since she deleted and re uploaded. I’m glad she decided to keep blogging.

Thanks for linking!

I’ll put more videos up, but probably after the holidays, the way life is going. I have lists of things I’d like to do, but work full-time and am always frantic in December.

I follow you, and enjoyed the new posts! My favorite blog post on your site is the wonderful instructions for rehabbing sponge bars.

Hi: Can anyone tell me what ribber I need to purchase for a brother profile 500? I just purchased this machine for a total of 82.oo on e-bay. I took it all apart cleaned up the needles wiped it down replaced the sponge bar and blew the dust out of it with my husbands compressor put it all back together and it runs like a champ. I have contacted a couple of websites asking about the ribber and have gotten 2 different answers. One website even told me that my machine was to old and not to invest any money in it. Well I would still like to purchase a ribber any way so if you have any information I’d like to hear from you.Thanks Debi

15 Telsa { 10.27.10 at 7:30 am }

Hi! I live in Devon, near Exeter and have just been given a fairly old knitting machine, Empisal 321. I would LOVE to learn how to machine knit!
Does anyone know of a course of instructions that is available in this area?
Or is anyone willing to show me hands on how to do it to get started, for renumeration? I am prepared to travel.
Even when I am assembling it I don’t seem to be able to push the carriage bar from left to right, when some needles are pulled out to the D position according to the manual, the needles bend against the Sinker arm edge.
Without the Sinker arm attached the carriage moves fairly smoothly from left to right etc. , with the needles in any position. I have checked several times, the Sinker arm is attached properly.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
Telsa

Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have just brought a Passap 3000, and it won’t keep the needles in the right place! It just keeps on putting them back into non working postion. I have followed every instruction to the letter but when the lock goes over the bed it does the above. This is casting on I have been trying to do.

If anyone can help with this problem I would be really grateful, as I have run out of ideas to why it is doing this.

This is an incredible website. I wish that all of us machine knitters could get together (with our machines) and have a great time. I have an old Brother KH588 machine with ribber . I am having troubles with stitches falling off my ribber after I have ribbed for a few rows?

Any words of advise out there?

Thanks

Mary

Hi. I love machine knitting, but I am having a break down trying to learn how to use the Brother KH 970. I know you did one video on enchanted lace pattern, and loved it. I wonder if you have made any videos for the basic intructions how to understand and use the CB -1. Maybe using a two color pattern in a basic child’s sweater. I would be ever so grateful. Trying to understand the instruction book, well, needless to say, I really get discouraged. I thank you . Hope to hear from you.
Thank you again
Pearl

30 Samasem { 04.18.12 at 6:17 am }

Hi, I love knitting machine trying to teach myself. Looking in different website I found your site its very very magnificant. Hopfully to find book or videos for passap duomatic. My regards.

31 Diane Cavallero { 04.24.12 at 10:53 am }

INFORMATION! For all of you out there looking for video clips for your particular machine try YouTube.. i found many videos on the passap duomatic there and a lot more on other models and it is a great resourxce in general for forgetful folk like me that can’t recall how to thread their sewing machine or how to cast on their knitting machine. you can find almost anything on there and it is A) free and B) downloadable. I rest my case . LOL

Yo can find a video for learning how to do just about any craft skill. If you KNOW how to do something and want to share your expertise, you can record via your webcam using readily available free software, or use your mobile phone or your digital camera to make short clips and there you go. It is a way of paying it forward.

32 Sarie Langeveld { 09.25.12 at 10:48 am }

I have an Passap 6000 and battling to read the console to “cast on” from the beginning and to program “form”, is there any one who can help me with that? And when you knit the ribbing on the double bed to transfer the front stitches to the back, I really want information on starting on the Passap 6000. Also want to knit a jersey with raglan sleeves and don’t know how to do that. Please do anybody have some information on this?

Thanks
Sarie

Should you be able to help me I really would be so very grateful, my daughter is expecting her first baby within the next couple of weeks and I am trying to make her
a lace shawl. I have a Brother KH-840 which I have used in the past with no problems. When using the K carriage that is fine, it is the lace carriage I am having the problem with, when I move it from left to right its fine, when I move from right to left it jams up every time on the first 20-30 needles. Has anyone any ideas why this is happening. I am pulling my hair out. Really would appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you

Jenny

I just got a new USM knitting machine. I went to YouTube and got a lot of tutorials on it and how to make a garter bar, etc. (KrisKrafter is making an 8mm garter bar for the Bond ISM, USM machines). There are so many videos about many of your questions; like cleaning, using ribbers, and many, many more. They were a great help. I found a lot of parts for a variety of knitting machines on eBay. I’ve learned a lot tips & tricks about this machine before I even started using it. Hope this has helped.

I have acquired a Jones KH 585 knitting machine and am in need of lessons. Is there any person who could let me know where I might purchase a DVD or is there anyone who would give lessons. I live in North London (Borough of Barnet). I would be willing to pay for the lessons.

I found a vintage Knit king AM3 at a yardsale that is in pristine condition it came with everything except the manual, it even has its own desk and the woman gave me over 300 50gm balls of yarn to boot but I really need a manual. I’ve knitted with other machines so I can at least get a decent stockinette off of it but I haven’t figured out how to use the ribber or the little cams that came with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Greetings everyone.
My mum is into knitting, and most of her accessories are lying down in a waste.
She has always improvised her knitting styles, but with this site, i sure know that she will be great at using her machine. Plus the fact that most stuffs here are free, it will help our family get up.
God bless you real good.
Thank you.
